Sumo Digital announce involvement in Warframe’s content update – Koumei & the Five Fates

Sumo Digital are delighted to share their involvement in the development of the recent content update to Digital Extreme’s long-running free-to-play franchise Warframe. 

Koumei & the Five Fates was announced live from the Tokyo Game Show Main Stage as part of Digital Extreme’s September Devstream. The Update includes the 58th namesake warrior, Koumei the Dice-Maiden who weaves the threads of destiny to unleash damage and ensure survivability, plus a new Shrine Defense mission with an Infested mini-boss, Infested Oni, with even more quality-of-life improvements for new players and deluxe cosmetics. 

Sumo Digital, working closely with Digital Extremes, were responsible for the development of Koumei and her weapons; Higasa, a gunbrella inspired weapon and Amanata, a divine pole arm inspired by the Naginata style weapon, plus skins for two other Warframes Volt Deluxe Skin – Volt Raijin and Nova Deluxe Skin – Nova Aozakura and the mission itself. 

Set in a sci-fi universe where players control ancient warriors known as Tenno, Warframe is a free-to-play cooperative third-person shooter developed by Digital Extremes, characterised by its fast-paced combat, extensive customisation options, and deep lore.
